Join us in our efforts to create positive outcomes throughout our community, by partnering with Have a Heart Washoe’s Foster Connect Program.   On average, more than half of foster parents leave fostering within the first year.  No matter how many wonderful families step up with big hearts and good intentions, there are never enough to meet the need.  Local businesses like yours, that are willing to offer foster parents exclusive promotions and discounts, can make a significant impact.  Providing foster parents with essential support and relief during challenging times, not only helps them succeed, but helps them remain a much needed care provider.  Participating in the program gives you the power to directly impact the lives of children and families, by offering them hope, assistance, and a sense of belonging when they need it most.

Here’s how it works:

• Discounts and Services: As a participating business, you’ll agree to offer foster families discounts or services at a rate determined by you.  These discounts and services can be easily redeemed with a special card issued to foster parents by Washoe County.

• Visibility and Support: You can proudly display our program sticker or decal at your establishment, signaling your commitment to supporting foster families.  Additionally, you can have foster care recruitment information readily available on-site.

• Simple Application Process: Applying to become a business partner is straightforward.  Simply submit your information in the application form below.  A Washoe County Human Services team member will get in touch with you.

• Flexible Offerings: You have the flexibility to choose the type and frequency of your offer.  Whether it’s a one-time discount, monthly promotion, or any other arrangement, you have control over how you support local foster families.  Tax write off opportunities are viable as well.

• Enhance Your Business Outreach:  By being a community partner, you’ll be able to attract new customers and expand your business outreach.  We will highlight your contributions to the well-being of families in our community on all our social media sites.
